This is another event new for 2009 at Bike Blenheim Palace. Taking place right in the heart of the event this will be a great spectacle. For those who don't know Cyclocross is like cross country running on a bike and can be done on any type of bike.
The circuit will be flat and winding between trees with short areas created from logs or planks where the riders must dismount. Every rider will be placed in the result even if they have been lapped several times by the leaders. The course will suit novices and new comers although all are welcome.
There will be three races:
Under 12s - A short course with a duration of around 10 minutes - £6.00
13s to 16s - A race of 30 minutes around a 1 1/4 mile circuit - £9.00
For everyone else over 16 - A race for 1 hour around a 1 1/4 mile circuit - £12.00
This is a race is registered with British Cycling and is run in association with Oxonian Cycling Club.
After the success of this event in 2009 we will again be running a Cyclocross at this years Breast Cancer Care's BIKE BLENHEIM PALACE. These races will form part of the Central Cyclocross League. This a new league, only in it's third year of running, and aims to bring new people into the sport of Cyclocross.
The Catagories are as follows:
- Under 10's - £5.00
- Under 12's - £5.00
- Novice Short Course (over 18's novice race to ease newcomers into Cyclocross) - £14.00Youth (Under 16's) - £10.00
- Juniors (Under 18's) - £11.00
- Seniors, Vets and Women (over 18's) - £14.00
- Entry includes the Family Ride and access to Blenheim Park and Formal Gardens.
- No entry on the day for this race.
