You will learn to develop your own creative practice in a thriving creative community in the heart of the UK’s second city on a course which mixes traditional surroundings with current international debates. The ability to develop your own individual practices alongside a range of local institutions and industries will give a unique insight into the culture and markets of the UK. A course…designed to equip with the knowledge and understanding of how to take their practical and theoretical learning and apply it to industry and business in order to be creatively prosperous… Students to forge connections, gain live experiences, learn about structures and operations of creative businesses with a focus on creative enterprise. The course will offer a nurturing space for you to self-reflect and identify your innate skill set, developing the ability to locate the right employment routes or to generate ventures for yourself. The focus of the project is on creative micro-businesses across all artforms, though we also engage with a range of organisations and partners to develop further projects and opportunities which support the development of the creative sector.
Focusing on critical research, analysis, and presentation, the capstone project enables students to synthesise and apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout the course. The module provides students with an extensive programme of training and resources which are designed to aid them in the development, planning, research, and writing of their projects. It brings together students from several MA programmes in the School of Critical Studies and Creative Industries and embeds a range of interdisciplinary and practice-led approaches to their respective fields of study.

There was a wide range of students from different backgrounds on the course, which brought a depth of experience to the classes.
