It covers the foundations of descriptive statistics and statistical estimation and inference. The computer classes give ‘hands-on’ training in the application of statistical techniques to real social science research problems. This first year will provide an in-depth training in the core foundations of general management, covering the same topics as a traditional MBA programme, but taking a more critical and rigorous approach to those topics.

Supply Chain Management
Throughout the team work and individual writing you will be supported by academic staff within the Management School. For this module you undertake independent research over a period of ten weeks, using and building on the knowledge gained from the previous modules. Through the project, you will also develop your organisational and analytical abilities. Supervision is provided by academic members of staff from the various Management School departments.

Cambridge is a really beautiful place with many quaint historical buildings that come with modern amenities. It’s a great place to relax and learn and meet people from various backgrounds. Also, the location of the business school is really convenient, as it is really central.
The module builds on students’ understanding of marketing and develops a critical appreciation of the role of marketing communications in the success of marketing strategies. A wide range of assessment strategies are used, including examination, assignments, case studies, presentations and coursework. All core courses are assessed primarily by an individual University examination, which may be complemented with other types of assessments among those mentioned above. So the course is very intensive and rigorous, because we have to take 11 courses over the span of nine months, but it’s been a great learning experience. I’ve learned a lot and gained a lot of exposure to the different fields of management studies.
All full-unit courses are assessed by three hour unseen examinations in the summer term. Half-unit courses can be assessed by two hour unseen examinations, coursework assignments, class participation or group/individual project work. You can tailor the programme to your own interests and specialise your knowledge with optional elective courses.
